Heiner Dietze

Heiner Dietze is a physical oceanographer, specialized in ocean and biogeochemical modelling on various scales as well as in modern data mining and machine learning techniques. He worked on a multitude of different model setups during several research appointments from Australia to Sweden. Please find him now at www.uni-kiel.de.

Ulrike Löptien

Ulrike Löpien is a Mathematician with a PhD in Meteorology. She has long-standing experience in Earth System Modelling and data analysis, including modern data mining techniques (she acted as PI and WP-leader in the pioneering HGF-funded project REDMOD https://redmod-project.de/). Ulrike enjoys especially interdisciplinary work such as the collaborative project FRAM which explored oceanic oxygen deficits and related mass fish kill incidents in Eckernförde Bight (Baltic Sea).
